Antigua, Barbados and St.Lucia

When you are on a Caribbean cruise you have only one day for each island/country. The last islands we visited during this adventure were Tortola, Antigua, Barbados and St.Lucia. One can really feel the colonial history of the islands with all those boats, sail yachts, “Caribbean pirates” cafes, sugar plantations etc. And once you are off the cruise ship you keep on bumping into diamond shops on every step, there are just too many of them...

On Antigua we did a canopy tour: an adventure ride through 9 “zip” lines in a rainforest. In the end of this fun you have a controlled jump (like a mini parachute jumping) from the height of about 8 meters. They say there are 365 beaches on the island, one for every day of the year, but we didn’t go there :)

Barbados is a real fantasy island. We had a scenic bike ride through sugar estate there. The trip finished with a swim stop on a lovely white sand beach called “Malibu beach” (the factory of the white bottled rum is right next to it). The views were amazing! It is not strange that some rich and famous people own houses/land on Barbados. The roads were not so great though.

We booked a kayaking trip for St.Lucia, but unfortunately it was cancelled. So we went to the main city (Castries) to just walk around and after a dedicated half-an-hour search we found an Internet café.

Now we are on the way back to Miami (Florida). We arrive there on Sunday and going to stay one night in a hotel in South Beach. By the way, the Super Bowl game will take place in Florida on Sunday, so it may be difficult to find a restaurant without a TV on!
